To my friends that are graduating, listen to this speech that Andy Samberg gave at Harvard. Hidden among all of his hilarious antics is one gem that is literally the only serious piece of advice that he offers: “Do not rush into the next phase of your life.”
I think the cardinal sin of being a human is to not embrace the part of your life that you currently reside in. With that being said, I did that throughout the majority of my college life. Embrace your twenties. You do not have to have your life figured out yet. It is okay that you are confused! You and I are just grown up babies.
We have our entire lives to be actual grown ups: to stress out about bills, to be overly serious and to become our own versions of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Save that for later because now you have just graduated college. Congrads!
P.S. This is not exactly meant to inspire you to go on an epic bender, rather to just not take things so seriously. Take a good look at how many times you laugh throughout the rest of today. That should be a good measure of how you are doing.
