Hi,

Today I’m getting ready to apply for the internship I’ve been dreaming of with Genius in Brooklyn. Wish me luck!

Last night Michigan State beat Duke and we ended up going to the bars. Trying to embrace the college lifestyle a few more times before I leave this place for good. That’s always been so hard for me to do. Just to look around and go: this is where I’m supposed to be right now, and not think forward or backward.

Pretty crazy to think that the next time I send you an email that I’ll be done with college. Well, as long as I don’t fail any of my classes. Oh shit! I just did it again. Looking forward. One day at a time. How the hell do people “live in the moment”‽‽‽

Fun Fact: ‽ The punctuation mark above is called an interrobang. It’s a combo of the question mark and exclamation point. I think that’s a metaphor for my life. Literally‽

Not to be confused with a professor, The Professor, the streetball legend visits a prison and talks with the inmates. Admittedly I didn’t have high hopes for this video but I ended up learning a lot about incarceration and (as bad as this sounds) that prisoners are people just like you and I.

Consider this essay as an preview to the book. You’ll learn a lot about love, mortality and the meaning of life.
